 Who’s in the house?
So are you watching Big Brother this series? Which housemate do you want out? Who do you hope wins? Who do you think will cause the most trouble? Who will everyone be talking about? It’s an odd concept isn’t it? Put a number of carefully chosen contestants in a house and then film their antics and no doubt the sponsors are hoping there will be plenty of those!
Do you remember the very first Big Brother? The one where the housemates didn’t really know what is was about. The one where they talked to one another and discussed things sensibly? They had no idea they would be famous at the end of it! Not like the present group who volunteered because they want to have fame and fortune and know that millions will be watching their every move and deliberately saying or doing outrageous things.
I wonder how you would feel if everything and I mean everything you did and said was being watched on TV? Would it change the way you did things? Change the way you treat people? Change the way you act? I think it might.
Yet we know that Jesus is with us wherever we are, whatever we do - don’t we? So should not that affect the way we live? Every day we are watched - but by an audience of just one. Or perhaps that should be The One, the only one whose opinion really matters. And don’t forget you don’t have to be summoned to your ‘diary room’ to talk to your big brother for Jesus is listening to your prayers always.
