I'm Aisling (on the left), and I'm from Northampton. I decided to participate in the Revelation course because I really don't know very much about the Bible. I felt that by improving my knowledge of the Bible I would also be improving my knowledge and understanding of my faith.
By taking part in the first weekend I gained loads of knowledge!!! I learnt lots about the history and context of the Bible as well as the importance of the Bible in my Catholic beliefs. I also came away with different ideas on how to approach reading the Bible, which increased my confidence in tackling it!
Throughout the coming year, I hope to know the Bible better, which will hopefully help me to deepen my faith and help me to try and listen more to what God is trying to say to me.
I'm Mary-Anne (on the right), and I'm originally from Portsmough, now studying at the University of Northampton. I have recently spent a year working at St. Cassian's Centre, Kintbury (a youth reteat centre). My voluntary youth work involved a lot of peer ministry, where the Bible may be of centre focus, and after my year, I thought maybe the Bible would one day 'just make sense'... but that didn't happen! So when I saw the opportunity for Revelation, I thought it would be fantastic to actually read what I live my every day life as a Christian by.
From the first weekend, I gained a sense of hope, that the Bible is manageable and readable. A great basis knowledge of where all the Bible came from and the context in which it was written. I also made new friendships, and had nice cooked food for once!
